Considering Koinonia

Our Objective

The object of Koinonia is to provide a Christian weekend for those who believe that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior, regardless of their religious denomination. Koinonia is a course in Christianity that teaches people to become effective lay leaders in the world. The weekend is for all those who desire a new experience in their faith.

It is an opportunity for you to personally enrich your Christian walk. The themes and structure of each weekend are always the same, and unfold in a specific way. It is a short course in Christianity that is meant to be a wonderful step in your spiritual journey, no matter where you are on that journey at this particular time. The schedule is a busy one, revolving around a series of talks given by clergy and lay people, with group activities, discussions for interaction, singing, and socialization during breaks and snack times.

Why Join Us?

The best part of Koinonia, and the reason someone who cares about you wants you to attend, is a little Jesus is the Light of the Worldharder to pinpoint and explain. It is difficult for Koinonians to share the essence of their weekend because it is a personal, unique experience. Everyone on the weekend comes from a different walk of life, work, family and faith journey. All you need to do is open your mind and heart, anticipating the gift of a Koinonia weekend.

If you are interested in becoming a part of this movement, please inquire at your church or speak with someone who has experienced a Koinonia weekend. You must be sponsored by an existing member of Koinonia or one of the Cursillo based movements

Due to the intensity of the weekend, the candidate should be physically and emotionally healthy and be at least 18 years of age. These are minimum requirements for recommending someone for Koinonia.
